India beat Sri Lanka in Men's Hockey Pool A of the Asian Games. India won the match by 16 runs. This is India's second consecutive victory in the tournament. Jugraj Singh scored four goals while Abhishek and Dilpreet Singh scored a hat-trick.
Mandeep Singh opened the scoring for India in the fifth minute. India took a 3-0 lead in the first quarter as Jugraj and Abhishek shook the nets in the 10 and 11 minutes. Captain Harmanpreet Singh, Abhishek, Jugraj, Sukhjeet and Dilpreet scored for India in the second quarter. By the end of the first half, India had taken a massive lead of 8 goals.
Following the attack in the third quarter, India added five more goals to Sri Lanka's net. With Manpreet Singh, Vivek, Dilpreet, Jugraj (hat-trick goal) and Harmanpreet, the score rose to 13-0. Jugraj scored his fourth goal while Abhishek and Dilpreet completed the hat-trick in the last quarter. Sri Lanka scored a consolation goal through Suresh Ratnayake in the final moments of the match but India secured a massive 16-1 win.
